Friends of Float Bridge - Volunteers Needed to Help with Cleanup

Past event
Aug 22, 2015, 9 AM to 12 PM

Almost everything that floats on Lake Bomoseen eventually is blown by the prevailing wind up against the south side of Float Bridge. The LBA harvester is unable to work close to the bridge to remove milfoil because of the concentration of trash, tree branches and other debris. If the trash and debris can be removed, then the harvester can collect the milfoil.
Members of the Freshman Class of Castleton University are going to help pull trash and debris from the water along the south side of the bridge as part of a community involvement project. We also need volunteers to work with these new members of our community to make this project a success. We need 3 to 6 small row boats (each with 3 life preservers) to work in the water close to the bridge. The LBA harvester will be on hand to collect milfoil as areas are cleared of trash.
The Cleanup will take place this coming Saturday morning, August 22, between 9 and noon.
Please call Bill Wood (273-3124) or Sue Day (273-3969) if you have a boat you can bring to the cleanup.
Thanks for your support to preserve, beautify and protect our lake.
