The Aug. meeting of the Calais/E. M. Historical Soc. will be held at the Adamant Methodist Church on Monday, Aug. 17, starting at 6 PM, with a bring your own picnic supper. If it is a nice evening, you may eat outside on the lawn. May want to bring chairs, or a blanket. There will be brief business meetings of each society bet, 6:30 and 7.
The program of the evening is the History of Adamant, which will be lead by Gail Graham and Elliott Morse. Lester Toby will also share some of his memories of growing up in Adamant. Some wonderful (old) photos from the archives of Lois Toby will be available for viewing. It promises to be an interesting, and fun, evening, esp. if you have never heard, or read, about the once booming settlement of Sodom/Adamant__way back when.
All are welcome, and we encourage new members.
