This from the maestro of jazz, George Voland, about this Sunday at the Public House:
Sunday, August 16, 5:30-8:30 p.m. —Sunday Jazz at the Hinesburgh Public House—VT 116, Hinesburg, VT Gardenias will blossom into song in the “music alcove” at the HPH this Sunday—specifically Blue Gardenias, a musical bouquet consisting of three fine singers: Amber deLaurentis, Juliet McVicker, and Taryn Noelle.
Each of them is fine a singer in her own right, of course, but together they have developed a blend and repertoire that you’ll very much enjoy—touching, witty, swinging, and always musical. You’ll also note they have a quality that’s shared by vocalist Matt Wright, about whom a musically savvy listener marveled after hearing Matt sing last week: “I can hardly believe it … but … I can actually understand every word he sings!”
Accompanying and complementing The Gardenias are Tom Cleary (piano), John Rivers (bass), and George Voland (valve trombone). Every now and then, Tom also breaks into voice with the trio. John and George generally stick with their instrumental voices, aware that the operant adjective for vocal contributions would be “complementary,” not “detrimental.”
And the food, service, and drink at the HPH create the perfect setting for your delicious musical and culinary evening.
