Monday August 10th
2:00-7:00 Ceremony followed by a potluck meal
Dreamlands
Downs Rd. Worcester, VT
Join ReTribe, Ivan McBeth of The Green Mountain Druid Order, and Circle of Women International for a Coming of Age Ceremony with teens, their families, and elders including Mayan Grandmother Nana Wilma from Guatemala!
For teens ages 12-17, mentors and families. (we encourage both parents to attend).
We will take this time to celebrate and honor our children becoming adults through ceremony in the woods of Vermont.
For Generations, tribal peoples have held ceremony to mark the coming of age for their children through rich and diverse traditions. In today's world, this is something that many believe needs to be woven back into the fabric of the modern age, to really honor this passage. Our intention in the future is to hold a multi-day Rites of Passage ceremony with our community. This will be our first meeting and an introduction into the future of these important Rites.
Grandmother Nana Wilma is a respected indigenous leader, spiritual guide and healer, keeping the spiritual heartbeat of the Great Mother Earth strong. She is traveling from Chimaltenango, Guatemala to mark special days honoring women, children and the fabric of community in the Mayan Calendar. She has a strong love for teens, and has often asked to work more directly with them.
This is a wonderful opportunity for her to share her wisdom with the young adults of our community.
Suggestion donation is $20-$40/family to help with travel expenses.
Please bring:
A potluck meal to share
plates and cups
serving utensils for your meal
