Tim Jennings & Leanne Ponder - Wolves!

On Monday, August 17th at 6:00 at the Lowe Lecture Hall (across from the Johnson Woolen Mill) Tim Jennings and Leanne Ponder will perform WOLVES! Folktales where the wolf is not the bad guy.

It seems like folktale wolves are always the villains of the stories they are in. But wolf-lovers rejoice! Here are three traditional tales from Asia and Eastern Europe that show these wonderful animals in a very different light: as heroes, fully worthy of our love and respect.

A live CD of this program was awarded a 2003 Silver Honor by the Parents' Choice Foundation. Two of the couple's other live-performance albums have been ALA/ALSC Notable Children's Recordings. "School Library Journal" has called their work "Masterful, incredible, highest level, not to be missed." Pamela Polston recently wrote in "Seven Days": "Tim Jennings and Leanne Ponder are simply Vermont treasures, and hearing their stories never grows old."

Tim & Leanne have been performing together for over 25 years. they are married and live in Montpelier with a feisty little dog and a marmalade cat.
This program is sponsored by the Johnson Public Library and the Lanpher Memorial Library with a grant from the VT Department of Libraries.
