Phantom Theater welcomes back Jean Taylor, NYC-based artist and faculty member at Lincoln Center Education and the New School for Drama. Her current show, True Hazards of Childhood, is an evening of intrigue in which an archeologist and her mute assistant investigate a mysterious artifact excavated from Mom’s basement, discovering hidden meanings and connections. With her company of theatrical anthropologists, Jean explores the intersection between archaeology and making theater. What do they have in common? Observing, discovering, assembling, getting rid of the extra stuff to reveal what is just beneath the surface. The result is serious theater from a foolish perspective. After all, as Einstein once said, “Play is the highest form of research.”
Showtime is 8pm, Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets are just $15. Reserve your seats by calling 496-5997. Phantom Theater is at the Edgcomb Barn, corner of Airport and Dump Roads in Warren. Follow the signs from Warren Village
