Beyond Kegels: Discovering Foundation Through Your Pelvic Floor

I am thrilled to be hosting this educational and experiential workshop for women at Experience Yoga

Health and wellness is driven by education, activity and first-hand experience. Change is a constant when it comes being a woman, and the pelvic floor is no exception! The female pelvic floor is a vital region in every woman’s body. It’s design and structure support movement and act as an exchange for energy on many levels.

In this 2.5 hour workshop offered to women will:

• begin to locate, relax, stretch, strengthen and exercise the various muscle groups of the pelvic floor, hips and lower abdominals
• learn how to integrate this newly discovered awareness into daily functional activities and yoga asana (postures)
• explore introductory breathing techniques and experience yoga postures using supportive props
• discuss basic hip and pelvic floor anatomy

No previous yoga experience is required. Cost: $45

Meagen Satinsky is a physical therapist and yoga therapist at Evolution PT & Yoga Studio in Burlington, VT where she works with women’s health,orthopedic and chronic pain clients. Her approach offers an integrated healing experience through combining the study and application of yoga with over 14 years of PT practice that has focused on acute and chronic movement and pain disorders. She welcomes individuals seeking a fresh, grounded approach to effective evidence-based methods for improving both comfort and function. Creating an environment for learning, practicing and sharing with those who cherish the process continues to be a humbling experience. Meagen gratefully dedicates her practice to her teachers.
