I'll be talking about and reading from my latest historical mystery, "Murdered Sleep," at the Aldrich Library in Barre this Wednesday evening, August 5 at 6 p.m. Set in Washington, DC in 1906, "Murdered Sleep" is a sequel to "Heron Island," which took place on a Lake Champlain island and among the anarchist granite workers of Barre. "Murdered Sleep" brings back sleuth Dade Wyatt who, in between stints on stage as the lead in "Macbeth," encounters the Capital's elite African-American community while hot on the trail of the killer of a crusading Congressman who's found dead hours after a scandalous altercation on the House floor. Hope to see friends and neighbors there!
