Astor Piazolla – Three Tangos (arranged for) violin and bass composed in the1950s by “the worlds foremost composer of tango music.” With training in New York, Argentina, and France, Piazolla
incorporated jazz and classical music into the tango. Performing masterfully on the bandoneon with his ensemble, Piazolla thrilled audiences with his passionate and dramatic tangos. In this arrangement, the violin typically provides the dark, rich melodic material while the bass a sense of a rhythm section.

Michael Hayden-- Divertimento in C major for violin, cello and bass (1758-60). Franz Joseph's younger brother composed many pieces of sacred and secular music during his long tenure in Salzburg where he mentored noted Romantic composers.

Traditional {American music} for violin,cello and bass – College {Sailor's} Hornpipe (1995).
Arranged by Mark O'Connor and Edgar Meyer for their CD project Appalachia Waltz, fusing folk, bluegrass and other popular musical styles.

Franz Schubert Trio # 1 in B-flat Major (1827-28) for violin, cello and bass in four movements.
Another masterpiece from his last year. “Listen to how Schubert creates impressive colors with only three instruments through his beautiful orchestration and dramatic changes.” “The second movement showcases Schubert the composer of songs . . . a beautiful lullaby is begun in the piano . . . . “
“The final movement . . . is wild, with various changes of textures . . . and closes with a fiery Presto.”
