“Community Photograph”
2015 National Night Out
Northfield - The Town of Northfield will be celebrating “National Night Out” on August 4th with a community photograph. This will be a repeat of last year’s program without the rain.
The celebration will take place August 4th from 6:30-8:45 p.m. with free food available as a result of financial support from the Northfield Rotary Club and contributions by local and area merchants. The picture taking is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. “National Night Out” is a nationwide effort by Police Departments across the country to improve communication within neighborhoods and communities in support of crime prevention efforts.
The celebration will take place on the Village Common which has been reconstructed in a manner that improves parking and pedestrian access (including handicapped access), creates space for civic and public activities, and moves all overhead utilities underground, while preserving the village green.
The celebration will also coincide with the regular Tuesday evening farmers market on the common with many vendors staying open to serve the public. People should park on Main or Central Street, behind the Northfield Savings Bank, at Kenyon’s Hardware and off Wall Street if possible to minimize congestion in the Common area.
For more information contact Chief Dziobek at the Northfield Police Department- 485-9181.
NOTE: A RAIN DATE WILL BE SCHEDULED AT NOON SOME SATURDAY OR SUNDAY IN SEPTEMBER.
