REMINDER:
Japanese Knotweed Control Workshop
Saturday, August 1, 9am – 12 pm
Mill Village in Craftsbury

Are you being overwhelmed with knotweed and want to learn how to control this nonnative invasive plant? The Craftsbury Conservation Commission is hosting a Japanese knotweed control workshop on Saturday, August 1, 9 am to noon, in Mill Village, Craftsbury. This hands-on workshop will investigate the various techniques used to eradicate and control Japanese knotweed, including mechanical as well as chemical control options. Elizabeth Spinney of the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation and Rose Paul of The Nature Conservancy will teach about mechanical control methods and then lead a hands on work session removing knotweed. Sam Perron of North Woods Stewardship Center will then discuss chemical control options and demonstrate several different common techniques.

This event will be held rain or shine. Please bring loppers and pruners if you have them and gloves if you please. We will meet at 9am on Cole Drive, across from the parking area at the Little Hosmer Pond boat launch in Craftsbury. At 11:00 we will move to a second site, just down the road, on the corner of Mill Village Road and Wylie Hill. Contact Leah Szafranski if you have any questions: 586-2384. We hope to see you there!
