Entertainment this week is the Vermont-based folk duo Cricket Blue . The band consists of Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith, who met at Middlebury College, where they studied philosophy and literature. Inspired by diverse aspects of the American folk tradition, they write songs marked by close-knit harmonies and words about myth, confusion, love, and perseverance. They count songwriters Jeff Mangum, Joanna Newsom, Laura Marling, Anaïs Mitchell, and Bob Dylan among their influences, as well as poets and storytellers such as Dylan Thomas, Alice Munro, Angela Carter, and David Foster Wallace. Performing as a duo since 2013, they released their first EP last year. Check them out here.

Music begins at 5 - come early to shop and buy dinner to eat while you listen... how about a picnic of Good Companion bread, fresh tomatoes, Midnight Farm goat cheese, and some Hop & Brine pickles?? Maple candy or a cupcake for dessert. All you need to bring in your picnic basket is plates, silverware, a cutting board and a knife and you are SET! Call your neighbors...meet them there!
