Quilts, Needlework, Market and Breakfast, Destination Tunbridge

The Saturday Sewing Circle will celebrate its seventh annual Quilt and Needlework Show with the theme "Through the Generations", with a modest showing of quilts and needlework of all kinds. Items will be showcased on the upper floor of the Tunbridge Town Hall, now the home of the Tunbridge 250th Commemorative Quilts on Saturday, Aug. 8th and Sunday, Aug. 9th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Admission is free and the building is handicapped accessible and an easy walk from the fairgrounds to the south end of the village for anyone from the Good Sam Club.

A sneak preview of the showing includes a family display of generations of handcrafted fabric items from the family of Bunchie Angell, a Man-made afghan, a woven Jacquard coverlet and some quilts from Libby Dodge. Tickets will be available for the Tunbridge Grange queen sized quilt, pieced and donated by Betty Roberts. The Circle will show their work and have a few select items on sale to fund various projects through the next year. We will setting up our quilting frame patterned from the Ladies Aid model and tying some quilts on both days. Feel free to pitch in.

The Tunbridge Farmers Market is set up across the street on Saturday from 9 to noon. Sunday,Tunbridge Recreation will be serving their buffet breakfast downstairs from 8 am until noon. Make Tunbridge your destination for weekend fun!
