RC sailing races going on Sat & Sun at the Commodore Inn on Rte 100. 30 sailors from Stowe, Vermont, New England, and Canada will race from 10am to 3 pm in the annual CAN-AM regatta for national, team & individual honors.

The boats are radio controlled with no motors, all just the wind. Two channels control the rudder for steering and the sails to catch the wind. The RC Class being raced is a model of the Soling sailboat. This model measures 39 inches in length and 6 ft bottom of keel to top of the mast.

Visitors are welcome to sit on the back porch of the Inn to watch the action. Races run about every 20 minutes.

Interested in becoming active with the Stowe Yacht Club? We race Monday and Wed Nights from 4:30 to 6;30 weekly. Cost of the boats is only a couple of hundred dollars.
