On Saturday, August 1, from 5:30 - 8:30, North Branch Cafe, State Street in Montpelier, will feature the Barre Historical Society’s project-- Rise Up Bakery-- as the evening's good community cause. The Cafe will offer fresh pasta and sauce from Alla Vita, as a draw for a casual dinner. Everything else they normally offer is also available. The Café will be open for regular business, and Rise Up Bakery will benefit from anyone who comes in even if not drawn by the special nature of the evening.

North Branch Cafe will donate 10% of their proceeds (food and beverage, not retail sales) to the bakery project. There will be an exhibit and a short video about the bakery. Please come and learn more about this exciting project to bring back to life a 1913 wood fired bakery built by the Italian Granite Workers, right behind the Old Labor Hall on Granite Street, Barre, Vermont.
