Big Fish in a Small Pond + Less is More = a Bigger and Better Ramble!

This SATURDAY, July 25th! The Ramble, a celebration of creativity and community in the ONE, is happening all day and into the night, rain or shine, throughout the Old North End.

PLEASE volunteer. Join us at the PREAMBLE, 12-22 North Street, Thursday the 23rd at 7pm, and lend a hand with: organizing merchandise, setting up for the main event, handing out flyers & hanging posters, wishing Danica a happy birthday, distributing maps, and delivering Ramble flags to mark Ramble events. There will be trouble-shooting and problem-solving opportunities GALORE! This is a not-to-be-missed event for the go-get ‘er good-doer! Danica is one of them, hence the birthday wishes! Reply to this post for more info.

YES! Ramble maps have gone to print; available SOON & will be shared digitally and literally.

You’ve probably heard about The Ramble’s main events: Field Days, Decaturfest, The Epic Bike Ride, The Community Photo and The Ramble Round-Up. No? Read more about these events in this sweet article from this week’s Seven Days → http://m.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/burlingtons-old-north-end-prepares-for-11th-annual-ramble/C[...]272

Keep up on the Ramble’s latest on Facebook→ https://www.facebook.com/events/728968413895534/

But wait! There’s SO much more! Feed yourself (and your soul) with Miss Weiner’z
handmade doughnuts, inspired by the diverse flavors of our ONE markets—available at Radio Bean and Scout & Co.—speaking of Scout & Co.—they’ll also have Rambleberry handcrafted ice cream—custom made and named for our special day! Order “The Ramble Scramble” at Nunyuns, and don’t forget the Sizzler but try the Topper at The Shopping Bag. Nosh on a Momos--a dumpling native to Tibet at Nepali Dumpling House. Get your daily fruit intake with a grilled fruit kabob at Butch + Babes. Grab a creamee to go (The Ramble suggests maple) for ONLY 25 cents at Chubby Muffin all day…ALL DAY!

Remember to save room for dinner! From 5-10 PM, right on North Street, FIVE food vendors will be waiting to serve deliciousness at The Ramble Round-Up: Fuego (tacos and various other sundries), Jamaican Supreme (serving up the real ONE Love), Jam Bakery (has your sweet tooth covered), ONE Hearth (a mobile, wood-fired oven serving pizza with pizzazz), and Good Food Truck (offering fancy street fare)!

Need to work off a few calories? Start the day with the Ramble Amble. Stroll through the ‘hood blowing bubbles AND land at Battery Park to join Evolution Yoga for an hour of basic yoga. Then, RAMBLE ON in the spirited games of Field Days or take a guided historical tour of our beloved ONE with Preservation Burlington. Maybe the Field Days sack races will have you sacked—say Namaste and join Bill O’Connor from Hot Yoga Burlington in Pomeroy Park for some more postures & pranayama…visit Open Houses hosted by Vermont Center for Acupuncture & Wellness and The Wellness Co-op.

For those who love to get their cardio on two wheels, make sure to check out the “127 Hill Climb Challenge.” Races held for: kids only, adults-on-kids-bikes, “how slow can you go”, cargo bikes, and more! Switch into high gear and delve into the parts and oddities for sale @ Bike Recycle, then SWAG your ride at Sustainability Academy before joining The Epic Bike Ride!

Want to capture the moment? Say cheese with your bike at Old Spokes Home, strike a pose at Roosevelt Park with Sam Simon, but don’t miss the Community Photo with Dawn O’Connell…at the Epic Bike Ride finish line which kicks off the Ramble Round-Up!

Still more! There’ll be art, places to make art, dance performances and dance parties! BBQs, gardens, BBQs in gardens, gardens with art, music WITH art! Endless permutations! Drink specials galore in the beer garden, at ONE pubs, and at the Ramble after party, where LIVE MUSIC will play into the night!

When you get the map, you’ll understand this disclaimer: we’re sorry to report the Blue Bus broke down just after the Map went to print…Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy thing. It REALLY did go into the “ONE portal.” Let’s have a moment of silence for the Blue Bus…but the show will go on!

See you at The Ramble!
