Free Carillon Concert: 1 PM Saturday at Norwich

Past event
Jul 25, 2015

The summer carillon concert series at Norwich continues this Saturday with a concert by Sergei Gratchev. Originally from Russia, Sergei now lives in Mechelen, Belgium, and teaches at the famous carillon school there. Sergei has been performing at Norwich for more than ten summers and is a favorite of Northfield carillon concert-goers for his lively, upbeat musical style. This is one concert you won't want to miss. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax in the shade as you listen to the 47 bells of the Charlotte Nichols Greene Memorial Carillon, one of only two such instruments in the state. Following the concert, the tower will remain open for tours and a demonstration on the instrument. The concert is free, open to the public, and handicapped accessible. Parking is also free and there are rest rooms available. The concert will take place rain or shine. For more information, visit: alumni.norwich.edu/carillon.
