It has been at least 10 years since any work has been done (except tree and branch removal) in the Huntington Center. This winter, damage at the ground level, fallen stones and leaning stones, has been especially severe and discouraging. There is a ton of work to be done.
The Cemetery Trustees have been offered a community service work crew through Ben and Jerry's where trustee Owen Rachampbell works. Seven B&J staff will be at the Huntington Center Cemetery, along with the Trustees, to help straighten stones and back-fill with gravel. The crew will begin work at 9 am and work through lunch.
If you are interested in helping, we would love to have you. Bring work gloves and a shovel and some water. With more people, we can really get this old cemetery looking nice again. Hope to see you there.
