Graffiti Cleanup

Please spread the word. The St. Albans Police Department will be sponsoring a graffiti cleanup day on Tuesday, August 4th, from 8:00am until no later than 12:00 noon. This is a good opportunity to give back and help make our alleyways and neighborhoods look like our Main Street. The more people that help, the quicker the work will be done.

“Tagging” is a way that a group marks their territory. By removing the tagging, we as a community show that we will not allow these groups of people to take control of our City.

If you would like to help, please meet in the Police Department’s parking lot on Lower Weldon by 8:00am on August 4th. It’s recommended you wear old clothing and a pair of old shoes. The PD will be supplying the materials needed for cleanup. That will include brushes, buckets, a power washer, and materials needed in order to loosen the graffiti from the building.

I’ve done this several times and have always felt fulfillment for a job that helps make the community look better.

Thank you and maybe I’ll see you out that day!
