The Craftsbury Chamber Players open the 2015 season Thursday July 16 at 7:30pm at the Hardwick Town House.
The program features the JS Bach Brandenburg Concerto #5 and includes music by J C Bach, C P E Bach ( both sons of J S), Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn. There will be an unusual keyboard instrument, certainly a first appearing with CCP, known as a fortepiano rather than the more usual harpsichord. This transitional keyboard was reluctantly endorsed by Bach the elder toward the end of his life and is the precursor of the modern day piano.
