The Kingdom Dixie Jazz Band is a group of local musicians playing old time Dixieland music. The songs once heard along the Mississippi River during the early years of the 20th Century.

Their Song list includes the foot tapping rhythms of "Sensation Rag, Fidgety Feet, Panama Rag and the slow blues of Wabash Blues or Tin Roof Blues. Also, the old standards of "Dixie" era such as Basin Street Blues. Muskrat Ramble, Milenberg Joys and many others.

The Kingdom Dixie Jazz Band features a full rhythm section of Bass Guitar, Jazz Guitar and Drum Set. The horn section comprises Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone and Tenor Sax

The Musicians live in the Newport-Derby area. Members hold regular day jobs such as educators, businessmen, school bus drivers, or retired. They are also members of the Newport Area Band that provides weekly summer concerts at the Bandstand in Gardner Park, Newport, Vt and members of the NEK Wind Symphony during winter months.

Goal of the Kingdom Dixie Jazz Band is to provide musical entertainment for various public festivals in and around the Newport area. Their musical efforts is are to enhance the cultural opportunities for people living and visiting the area.

Band members. Richard Lafoe, Trumpet, Howie Artz, Clarinet, Peter Storings Tenor Sax, Woody Arnold, Trombone, Bill Prue, Bass, Chris Nicotera, Jazz Guitar and Brett Hoffman, Drums.
