The 4th annual Summer SOULstice Celebration is this Sunday July 12th from 3 – 7 pm. Although it may not be the actual Solstice, this event will be loaded with plenty of SOUL and community spirit! Located on the beautiful grounds of the Bennington Battle Monument, the Summer SOULstice Celebration is a heart inspired, health and wellness event created to bring friends and families together for an evening of music and fun activities all while supporting our neighbors in most need. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless. Admission is free with most activities free or by donation.
Stretch out and relax on the lawn while listening to the soulful music of The Julie Shea Band, browse the many vendors with tasty treats, sparkling jewelry and lotions and potions or receive a relaxing chair massage. The children will love our Creative Corner where they (and you) can make Peace Flags, Garden Stakes, decorate the Community Mural, add a thought to the Gratitude Tree or a design to the Chalk Walk. There will also be giant bubble making, amazing Face Painting, and a fun Family Photo Booth.
July 12th also marks the opening of the stairs inside the Monument so take a climb(3-5pm) or a Sunset ride in the elevator to the top of the Monument. (fee charge) Join Fidel Moreno of Healing Winds on the lawn to participate in a Native American Peace Ceremony.
Roll your mat out on the lawn to participate in a delicious Yoga Flow class (suggested donation $15-$20) . Finish out the evening by jamming or dancing with the Bennington Area Drummers. Bring a drum or shaker if you have one.
