Preview of July 13 City Council Meeting

Past event
Jul 13, 2015, 7 to 9 PM

Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, the City Council will hold its only meeting for the month of July. Following a brief Local Control Commission meeting set to begin at 7pm, we will convene our regular City Council meeting in Contois Auditorium in City Hall.

We will begin our evening with an oral communication from the Mayor regarding the appointment of Brandon del Pozo to become our next Police Chief. Depending on the time, we will move to our deliberative agenda or the public forum set to begin at 7:30pm.

Monday evening’s deliberative agenda will begin the vote on the appointment by the Council of the appointment of the Police Chief. We will hear the annual report of the Fire Commission and the Public Works Commission. We will have a public hearing and second reading on an ordinance regarding water meters.

We do have two items on our agenda that will require an executive session; one concerning the former Burlington College land and the other regarding an update collective bargaining and contract negotiations.

Our last items on our agenda are Council committee reports, comments from Councilors and the Mayor.

As with all Council meetings, please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm. Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:
https://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public All Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and streamed live to your computer or phone.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.

I hope you all enjoy a terrific weekend.

My best,
Karen
