2:00 pm, Vermont History Center
60 Washington Street, Barre
The battle of Hubbardton was perhaps the loss that saved the war for the patriots. British and German troops ran into stubborn rebel resistance at Hubbardton, Vermont, on July 7, 1777. Historian Dr. Bruce Venter is the author of a new book about the battle, recently published by History Press, and he will reveal his insight into this historic battle.
If you can't make it to the reenactment at the battlefield this weekend, you can get your Revolutionary War fix closer to home!
The talk is free with admission to the Vermont Heritage Galleries, with exhibits on the history of Barre, Vermont's Civil War generation, and icons and oddities from Vermont history.
