Discover the Heart of the Islands, 9th Annual OpenFarm and Studio Tour Come to Grand Isle County,Vermont, located at the northern end of Lake Champlain, and discover the heartof the islands.  Join us for the 9thannual Discover the Heart of the Islands: Open Farm and Studio Tour, July 11th& 12th, 2015.  There are several “art hubs” where more than one artist will belocated.  Visit vineyards, farms,gardens, art studios, galleries, and farmers' markets. It is going to be BIGGER and BETTER! This year we are opening our venues to include artists from theNorthwest Region!  Meet theartists, agricultural producers and their animals living and working at theedge of magnificent Lake Champlain.  JoinVermont Farm Tours on Saturday the 11th and participate in one ofseveral mapped bicycle routes that take you to many of the venues on thetour.    This is a great way to get offthe main road and truly “Discover” the heart of the islands.  Watch demonstrations by potters, jewelers,painters, wood turners and fiber artists. Sample savory delights from island producers and chefs at the Farmer'sMarket on Saturday.  Visit island farmsand chat with the folks who provide the fresh meats, cheeses, and produce forour local markets.  See angora goats,alpacas, llamas, and sheep and get a chance to see how yarn is hand spun fromthese fiber animals.   The Discover the Heart of theIslands: Open Farm and Studio Tour is a great opportunity to buy itemsdirectly from the hands of the artists in their studios.
