“LAKE CHAMPLAIN: THE ICE HIGHWAY”

The Society invites you to join Dr. Susan M. Ouellette, Professor of History at Saint Michael’s College, in Winooski, Vermont, as she tells the story of Lake Champlain as an ice highway.

Dr. Ouellette notes that scholars have often focused on Lake Champlain as a main north-south transportation artery before and after European contact, during the colonial wars, as well as during the American Revolution and beyond. While most historians concentrate on the lake as a major “water highway,” Dr. Ouellette’s presentation, titled “Lake Champlain: The Ice Highway,” will tell the story of the lake as an ice highway.

This event is free and wheelchair accessible.
