Memorial Gathering for Auggie

Past event

Monday July 6th, 5 to 7 Pm. PTHOH

On June 10th, my little dog Auggie...the "Plainfield Peace Pooch" suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at age 5. If you don't recognize him by name, you may know who he was by seeing the small brindle dog that Allen Dale walked almost every day. Auggie made many friends around the Village, and beyond. You would know you were one of his best friends, as he would gleefully verbalize his excitement to see you. You may have also been growled at by him, but that was usually just his way to say "hi!".

Some of his best friends and myself decided to have a memorial gathering to send him on his way across the Rainbow Bridge. Anyone who knew him, or me and Allen, or loves animals, is invited to attend. We are holding this at the Plainfield Town Hall Opera House, (PTHOH) on Rt 2, on the first floor. If you would like, but it is not required, bring appetizer type food to share, a flower, and some lint. Only a small amount of dryer lint, dust bunnies, pocket lint....no belly button lint please, will do. (Curious? Come and find out what this is about!) Since the PTHOH was very kind and waived the rental fee for us, there will also be a donation jar with the money to go to the PTHOH.

So bring some food, a flower, lint, and a donation....but more importantly, bring any stories you may have about him, or even your own beloved animal friend. This is an informal gathering, (although Allen would like it to be black tie). Arrive at 5 and stay until 7, or drop in anytime.

While I am still heartbroken, I am also ready to have another animal friend in my life. I cannot afford the high fees of the shelter or some rescues. If you hear of a small dog (under 15 lbs, that does not need a lot of exercise), or possibly a cat in a desperate situation that needs to be rescued, please think about me. A friend suggested I put out a jar to help with rescue costs. I decided not to do that, but if you know of the perfect rescue, I will try to find a way to collect the money. While I cannot afford high initial fees, I take excellent care of my animals. One of my, and Auggie's good friends is a Vet, Carol Weyland, so they will get good health care, and I feed my animals special food I make for them. All my other cats and dogs have lived to be 15 and older. I have many references.

Thanks for any support in this matter, and I hope to see you on Monday, July 6th. to send my little brindle bullet buddy, off in style.
