The reading of Frederick Douglass' firery speech on July 5, 1852 will be outside Bennington Town Offices (205 South St.) 6 PM. Join the Greater Bennington Peace and Justice Center and the Interfaith Council in a communal reading of the speech in which the great abolitionist orator Frederick Douglass took exception to being asked to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
