This class easily meet the needs of those who want to attend the Richmond Farmers Market and all the wonderful things Richmond has to offer on Fridays. Please come relax and invigorate then head to the farmers market for some tasty treats!
Yin Yoga
If you have never tried Yin Yoga, this is your chance!
Yin Yoga is a slower yoga practice that targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. While initially this style of yoga can seem quite passive, or soft, Yin Yoga can be quite challenging due to the long duration of holds in the poses. It can even challenge your mental self! The postures can be held anywhere from 1-20 minutes! Yin and yang tissues respond quite differently than in a typical yoga practice.
Liz Geran will teach this class. Liz has completed an 80 hour certified Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation training with Sarah Powers. She is an acupuncturist and herbalist and has been practicing Classical Chinese Medicine for 15 years.
