Dear Neighbors and Friends,

DATE NIGHT!!!

You are invited to a "Friday at the Movies" at the Vergennes Opera House this Friday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m.!

NORTHERN BORDERS, Vermont filmmaker Jay Craven's newest film, has been shown at selected venues around Vermont this summer and over the next few weeks it will screen in in Addison County and at YOUR Vergennes Opera House this Friday, September 13. (http:/www.kingdomcounty.org)

This is a coming of age story of a boy who, in 1956, goes to live on his grandparents farm where he experiences adventures and uncovers family secrets. This film is rated PG-13.

It stars Bruce Dern, Genevieve Bujold and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick as well as some other familiar faces from the region. The film was based on the novel by Howard Frank Mosher.

Tickets will be for sale at the door only and are just $10 for adults, $6 for seniors or students under 18 and there is a family pack of 4 tickets for $25.

Director Jay Craven will be on hand to introduce the film and to answer questions afterward.

A PERSONAL NOTE: I produced and co-wrote a film called "The Summer of Walter Hacks" (http://www.pastureproductions.com) and enjoyed two sold out screenings in the Opera House. I cannot tell you how thrilling it is for a filmmaker to see a nice full audience appreciating and enjoying a film that has taken months and sometimes years to make. I am hoping for a hearty audience for Jay on Friday and to showing off the warm hospitality we are so good at providing.

See you Friday night and thanks in advance for spreading the word!!!
Cheers,
Gerianne Smart

p.s. The Vermont Symphony Orchestra will be at YOUR Vergennes Opera House on Saturday, September 21. Tickets are available here: http://www.vso.org
