On Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 - 4:00pm, as part of the RockFire 2015 weekend, the Old Labor Hall is opening its doors to visitors who may never have had the opportunity to look around this National Historic Landmark and to those who want to get up to date on our latest preservation projects. This is your opportunity to tour the Hall and take a closer look at the historic Union Cooperative Store bakery building also on the site (which you may never have noticed before):
-See the Old Labor Hall’s newly-restored historic entry hall and original ticket window!
-Check out the work-in-progress on the flood mitigation project.
- View historical exhibits detailing the history of the Hall and Union Cooperative Store Bakery—soon to be “The Rise Up Bakery”!
-Check out the Monumental Women of Barre exhibit—straight from the very stone celebrated in “RockFire”. Can you identify the women in the photos? Do you know what they sacrificed for their honor of being “monumental women”. If you want to know the answers to these questions, come to the Open House. Can’t make it? Sign up for our eNews. (The answer will be published in the July issue.)
-Relax in the afternoon with light refreshments and music—in preparation for the night time excitement on Millstone Hill.
-Visit with friends and neighbors.
