Rockabilly Hall of Fame recording artist, MARTY WENDELL
and His Tour Band, will be performing a CD Release Concert at
The Little Theater On The Farm, 27 Plum Road, Fort Edward, NY
on June 20th at 7PM.
Marty is a unique artist who in 2014 celebrated his 50th Anniversary of making music and received a prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award.” He has shared the stage with along list of legendary artists including Arlo Guthrie, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. \
He is one of a select group of artists to record in the famous Sun Studio in Memphis, TN where Elvis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash as well as Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and B.B. King recorded their first records. Wherever he and his band perform they remind their audiences just how good genuine rockabilly music can be. His concerts include rockabilly classics
and oldies from the Golden Age of Rock and Roll as well as some
of his original songs like “’57 Chevy” his most popular song on iTunes.
Marty's new CD “A Real Good Run” features the legendary
steel guitar of Robby Turner, an award winning Producer, and
member of the late Waylon Jennings’ band. There are liner notes
from Turner, Grammy nominated artists Deborah Allen and Jack
Blanchard & Misty Morgan; Waylon band members, Carter
Robertson and Billy Ray Reynolds and others including Jerry Fox,
Jim Cristaldi and Todd Willits. This album of self-penned songs
has already received strong critical acclaim.
