Join the Central Vermont volunteer leaders on Friday, June 19 at 5 pm at the home of Carol and Michael Moriarty, 932 Cabot Rd., Woodstock, to learn more about the Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program. Volunteer hosts will share their experiences hosting New York City children and can answer any questions. Refreshments will be served, including a generous donation of cheeses from Cabot Creamery Cooperative.
Fresh Air summers are filled with children running barefoot through the grass, gazing at star-filled skies or swimming for the first time. Each summer, nearly 4,000 inner-city children visit suburban, rural and small town communities across 13 states and Canada through The Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program. Fresh Air children are boys and girls, from 6 to 18 years old who live in New York City. Children on first-time visits are 6 to 12 years old and stay for one or two weeks. We are currently looking for more host families! Host families include empty nesters and families with young and grown children.
Please join us on the 19th to find out more information or contact Laura Davidson or Nora Skolnick at 802-728-6456 or visit The Fresh Air Fund online.
