Befriend the Park!
Join the City to talk about invasive species and get a park project status update Thursday, June 25th from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Meet: West end of Iby Street.
The parcel of land known as Dumont Park includes invasive species commonly known as buckthorn and honeysuckle among others. These species out-compete native plants for nutrients, light, and moisture.
Volunteers interested in learning about the control and removal of invasive species, and discussing how this occurs and how to participate on the Dumont Park site should attend this event.
We will discuss potential ways to control the invasive species. There will also be a status update on the City Center Dumont Park project including the timeline as well.
Event will happen rain or shine. Please come prepared with suitable footwear and clothing for an uneven foray (although not far) into the woods, potentially on wet ground. Kid friendly event.
