Kick off the summer music season at The Northern Sun Music Festival, this weekend, Friday, June 19th – Sunday, June 21st in Hinesburg, Vermont.
This family-friendly festival features over 16 bands from all over Vermont and New England including: Grammy Award winner Joe Ferry and the Big Ska band, Vermont’s own Aaron Flinn, Crazyhearse, Po Boyz, the Michelle Sarah Band, About Time, REDadmiral. This is a wonderful new music and craft festival nestled in the beautiful Champlain Valley. Weekend camping is offered for those who want the full festival experience. Campers can set up Friday June 19th after 3:30 pm and can stay until Sunday at noon. Gates open for all other festival goers at 4:00. Tickets can be purchased on line at nsmusicfestival.com or at the gate. Purchasing in advance will save time at the gate!
There will be over 20 vendors on site offering a huge variety of food and crafts for all to enjoy. Get your festival wares at the Northern Sun Booth. There will be a Beer Garden open all weekend featuring many Vermont favorites like Citizen Cider, Fiddlehead, and Zero Gravity. Must be 21+ to go into the garden.
Children’s activity area will be open all weekend, including: Tie dying, nature crafts, bubble pools, painting and drawing, excavation area for little diggers and builders, hula hoops, balls to chase and throw. Try your luck at “Knockerball” (Think full contact soccer inside an inflatable bubble that you run around in!)
Fire dancers on Saturday night will be performing poi fire arts, fire breathing, and fire eating! Morning yoga sessions occur on Saturday morning for all to enjoy from 9am-10am. (Sorry, no dogs allowed, as this is a working farm with critters all around.) This is a family festival – children 12 and under are free.
