Johnson, VT – An Informational Meeting sponsored by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and Town of Johnson regarding VTrans bridge project Johnson BF 0248(4) will be held at 8:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2015. The meeting will be at the Johnson Town Office located at 293 Lower Main St. West in Johnson. This project replaces Bridges 1 and 2 on Route 100c. These bridges span over the left and right branches of the Gihon River, respectively.

The preferred alternative for both bridges, as defined during the scoping phase of the project, includes replacement of the superstructures (beams and deck) with substructure (bridge seat & abutment) rehabilitation and the installation of a retaining wall on the northeast corner of bridge 2. Traffic is anticipated to be maintained on an offsite detour (along VT Route 15 and VT Route 100) during a road closure of approximately 4-5 weeks.

The intent of this meeting is to provide an overview of this bridge replacement project and receive feedback regarding project development from the Town Officials, local residents and businesses, emergency services and other interested parties. There will be a review of the existing site conditions, proposed work, detour, and overall schedule. This will be followed by posing specific polling questions to the community and a closing question and answer period. Representatives from both VTrans and the Town of Johnson will be available at the meeting to address public concerns about the projects.
