Who: Women and girls of all ages along with the ladies of the SMS T2 Elite Ski team, including Olympians Sophie Caldwell and World Champion Jessie Diggins!

What: 4 mile hike on mostly flat, and gently rolling terrain with the option of swimming or cliff jumping at Little Rock Pond

Where: Little Rock Pond, Landgrove, VT

Directions:

From Route 7 in Danby:
Turn east onto Brooklyn Rd. (Forest Road 10). Take FR 10 for approximately 3.5 miles to the Appalachian/Long Trail crossing. The parking area is found on the south side of the road.

From Route 100 in Weston: Turn west onto Landgrove Road. Take this road past Weston Commons and bear left over a bridge at Lawrence Hill Road. Turn right at 4.2 miles onto Forest Road 12. Take FR 12 for 0.4 miles and turn right onto Forest Road 10. Follow FR 10 for about 11.0 miles until you reach the AT/LT crossing. The parking area is found on the south side of the road.

Why: Celebrate the summer solstice and official end of the school year with a fun hike to kick off the Summit Sisters hiking series for 2015! Summit Sisters aims to bring together women and girls of all ages, including elite-level athletes, to build an active community of women in Southern Vermont. We want more girls outside and getting active and we invite you to join us for a new “summit” each month!
