Women Helping Battered Women’s (WHBW) Board of Directors presents the 8th Annual Run for Empowerment on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Burlington’s Waterfront Park. There are events for the whole family, including a 5K Walk/Run, a 10K Run, and a 1K Kids’ fun run! This family-friendly event raises vital funds that support WHBW’s programs that help victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

A DJ from Top Hat Entertainment, staff from Local 22/Local 44, and CHAMP from the Lake Monsters will be there to lead the way to the finish line. Great prizes will be awarded to the five individuals who raise the most funds for WHBW. The top fundraising team takes home the Cup of Empowerment for one year! Additional prizes will be awarded through a raffle that also raises funds for WHBW programs. All prizes have been generously donated by local businesses. Free massages, food, and plenty of kid’s activities will also be available.

Register online through Thursday, June 18th at 11:59 pm at https://www.crowdrise.com/RunForEmpowerment. You can also register at City Sports, Friday, June 19th from 4-7 pm or at Waterfront Park on the day of the Run. Registration is now $40 for adults and $10 for kids, which counts toward your fundraising total. Fundraising from friends and family is the best way to support WHBW.
