The Paddler's Club clinic is this weekend. The following Sunday (depending on conditions) Lontra (paddlesport meetup group) is planning a beginners' trip from Bolton Dam to Richmond, preceded by an onshore introduction to the principles and cautions of going with the flow. We don't do whitewater, but moving water is a force to be reckoned with and we want to reckon intelligently.

As with all Lontra events, safety is paramount. Properly fitted PFDs are required and additional safety gear and training is strongly advocated. That said, this is a tame stretch of water.
