Henry Janes Centennial

Past event
Jun 13, 2015

This week we remember Dr. Henry Janes, one of Waterbury' finest citizens and benefactors who died a hundred years ago on June 10, 1915. It is appropriate that we remember him and keep his spirit alive because of all he gave to our community. On Saturday, June 13th, the date of his burial, you are invited to his stone in Hope Cemetery at 5PM for a remembrance of his life and a toast to his memory. As you pass through the Main Street entrance of Hope Cemetery and follow the road ahead take note on the left the markers at the stone of his parents, Henry F. and Fanny Butler Janes and on the right his grandparents, Ezra and Tryphena Butler. Henry's stone is down the slope on the right.
