Past event
Jun 17, 2015

The Craftsbury Energy Committee will be hosting on Wed., 6/17, 7 - 8:30 PM, Vt. Electric Cooperative (VEC) and Vt. State Employees Credit Union (VSECU), at the Craftsbury Public Library.

VEC will be presenting their Community Solar Electric Net Metering offering and other programs and services and VSECU will share info on their Sustainable Energy Loans.

If you are a VEC customer who has been thinking about putting up a solar electric array but you don’t have the roof space, proper orientation, unshaded area, or property to put up such an array, or, you use so little electricity that the overhead costs of a solar array is prohibitive, this information offering is for you!

Any VEC patron has the opportunity to buy into the VEC’s upcoming Community Solar Electric Net Metering Farm at any amount of electricity. You would then get electrical credits credited to your home, business, or nonprofit. Come and find out
- how quickly this investment can pay for itself, especially for businesses
- how this investment can be sold if you move out of the utility area
- and how it can be credited to another residence if you move within the utility area

The second presentation will feature VSECU who will share their “Heat Saver” loan program and other Energy Improvement Loans, both secured and unsecured.

The state-funded “Heat Saver Loan” program makes zero interest and low interest loans available to all Vt. income-qualifying applicants who want to invest in energy efficient projects and purchases such as Home Weatherization, Energy Star Home Construction, Solar Electricity, Solar Hot Water, and High Performance Oil, Propane, or Pellet heating systems.
