Dear neighbors,
I wanted to alert you to a couple of opportunities to discuss the city's draft housing action plan. Mayor Weinberger will be discussing the plan at the Ward 1/8 Neighborhood Planning Assembly on Wednesday, June 10th, shortly after 8 p.m. The NPA will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the McClure Lobby Conference Room at UVM Medical Center.
The city council's Community Development and Neighborhood Revitalization (CDNR) committee will be offering feedback on the current draft of the plan on June 15th at 5:30 pm at the Fletcher Free Library. There will be a public forum held at this meeting (full agenda available at: http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CityCouncil/CEDONeighborhoodRevitalizationCommittee).
You can find a current draft of the plan, along with all written comments to date on the city's housing action plan website:
http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CEDO/Housing-Action-Plan.
These include a report from a workshop dedicated to the housing action plan which was held on May 21st, following the all NPA steering committee-sponsored housing summit, as well as extensive feedback provided by former Burlington housing director John Davis. The CDNR committee will be reviewing and responding to this testimony, along with additional feedback offered at a public hearing on April 13th and at NPA discussions throughout the city.
If you are unable to attend either meeting, but want to share feedback on the plan, please feel free to contact me directly.
Sincerely,
Selene Colburn
East District City Councilor
