Are you planning to come out to support the first Farmer's Market of the season on their new day, Monday June 22? If you love our farmer's market and want to show your support, please join me and some other Westford neighbors for a Cash Mob. What is that, you say? A cash mob is a group of people who commit to support a retail location (usually a book store or similar, in this case the farmer's market) by agreeing to show up on a certain day and commit to spend at least $20. If you want to join us on the common, I'd welcome you to join our Facebook event also (I'm using this as a way to gauge how many people are interested): https://www.facebook.com/events/396617930524402/.
What is the purpose of a Cash Mob? I think we can all agree that last year's farmer's market was a little sleepy. The goal here is to inject a little extra cash into the market to support our local farmers and artisans. In turn, when the vendors have a good day, they are more likely to return to the market, and potentially tell others about their good experience. More happy vendors at our market means more interested customers...you get the idea. Also, it supports the fun, social vibe that I personally love about the market.
I hope to see you all on the 22nd! It feels like summer is here, but to me it's not official until the Farmer's Market kicks off. Looking forward to it!
