First Annual Braintree Historical Society Craft Fair & Silent Auction

Past event
Jun 13, 2015, 10 AM to 4 PM

The Braintree Historical Society will host its first annual craft fair and silent auction at the Braintree Hill Meetinghouse (at the top of Braintree Hill Road) on June 13 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Come enjoy the magnificent views from the grounds of the historic 1845 meetinghouse while perusing the fine arts and crafts on display by some of the areas most talented artisans. Many vendors will be set up around the Meetinghouse showcasing everything from preserves to pottery and baked good to turned bowls.

Many of the talented artisans that will be on hand, as well as generous local businesses have donated items for a silent auction to benefit the Historic Society's ongoing preservation efforts at the meetinghouse. With bidding on everything from a new barbecue grill to fine art, there's sure to be something you can't possibly live without! The Historical Society will also have on display a lovely hand sawn quilt which will be raffled off in August. Tickets (which will be on sale) are only a dollar each or 6 for five dollars.

And if you're hungry, there will be two local food vendors on site cooking to feed the masses!

In addition to the craft and food vendors, silent auction and quilt raffle, there will be a tree planting and dedication ceremony. The Braintree Conservation Commission received grant funding to purchase and plant three sugar maples on the grounds of the Meetinghouse to replace trees that had to be taken down. The planting and dedication will take place at 12:00.

This promises to be a terrific day of crafts, food and fundraising to benefit the Braintree Historical Society and hopefully, our first craft fair will become a yearly time to gather and enjoy one of the areas most beautiful historic sites.
