A Localvore Foodie Dream: Stowe Wine & Food Classic June 12-14

The Stowe Wine & Food Classic is one of my favorite summer events - and not just because it supports Copley, our local hospital. Yes, I work for Copley, but for me, personally, this event has everything - the best food and drink Vermont has to offer, excellent wines from around the world, a chance to talk with talented chefs, craft brewers and wine makers, great music and good people. There is something for everyone: from Friday night's Brews, Blues (the Dave Keller Band!) & Food Truck Crews, to Saturday's Spanish-themed Farm to Table Dinner featuring the wines from Cune Rioja, to Sunday's Grand Tasting (with the Starline Rhythmn Boys!). Personally, I'm looking forward to Holly Rochefort's wine tasting session about discovering your personal tasting palate. And I like the more causal rustic vibe of this year's Saturday night dinner from Jack Pickett (Owner/Executive Chef of The Phoenix), Shawn Calley (Executive Chef at The Essex and 2015 Vermont Chef of the Year) and Executive Chef Cody Vasek and Executive Chef Arnd Sievers from Trapp Family Lodge.
