On Thursday, June 4th from 9am to 12pm Twin Valley Senior Center will be having a group of Volunteers from the Unitarian Church of Montpelier coming to the center to help us with much needed yard work, etc. The group called SPUDs is a loose acronym for “Service is Our Prayer Buddies”. We are so fortunate to have their help.

The rain date is scheduled on 6-11-15. I am asking for community members in our 6 towns to please come help us. We need to move and relocate 5 raised garden beds, move the dirt and cut the grass where they will be relocated. There is an area be cleaned out with grass and brush to make a picnic area with grills for the seniors that is somewhat shady. We have a storage shed that needs to be painted, a bulk head that needs insulation, a whole area that the grass needs to be cut with a weed whacker or mower, neither which the center has. There are windows to be washed, brushing down of webs, etc. weeding and mulching of flower beds. We have no tools at the center and are in need of wheelbarrows to move raised bed dirt, weed whackers, ladders, shovels, rakes, etc. The more hands make the load lighter and a lot can get accomplished. We would be grateful for your help!
