Hello Neighbors!
I am running an event this coming Thursday at the JSC College apartment's Garden. The garden was abandoned over the summer and it is my job to get it all set for the winter so that I can have it ready for the spring, but it is going to be a lot of work. I am hoping to have some faculty and students help part-take in this event, the help from the community would be appreciated as well. The weeds are out of control, the fence needs to be taken down, and there is a lot of clearing out that needs to be done. The compost has fallen a part and it is a goal of mine to get that back up and going as soon as possible. Therefore, I am wondering if there is anyone in the Johnson area who is willing to lend some gardening tools for us to use. We will most likely need a shovel or two, a few pairs of gardening gloves, a couple rakes, and a wheel barrel. At some point we may be looking for someone who would be willing to rota-til it for us as well. This garden has lots of potential and is going to be beautiful once I am through with it. It is my goal as the person in charge of the garden, to have the garden cleared out this Thursday, and throughout the winter I will be planning, organizing and preparing for the spring to come. I have great plans for the produce once it becomes harvest time next summer! I will work hard to make this garden a part of our community and to help feed those who are in need.
