Old Home Sunday at South Newfane Baptist Church

Past event
Jun 7, 2015

The annual Old Home Sunday service at the South Newfane Baptist Church will be celebrated on Sunday, June 7. This special service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

On that date, the church will open its doors for the summer and Rev. Malcolm Hamblett will begin his second summer of preaching. His sermon for the day will be "Putting Down Roots," based on Matthew 1:1-25 and Colossians 2:6-7. Lisa Sherman is the pianist and Cathy Natoli will provide special music.

This is a special service to welcome back families and friends who live in or have moved away from South Newfane, those who are new to the area or looking for a new church home, or those who just want to come in and visit.

A potluck luncheon will follow the service. Everyone is welcome to stay for lunch, whether they bring a dish or not.

The church was organized in 1791 and the inspirational stained glass windows were dedicated in 1912. These windows represent many local families and their descendants including the Bruces, Swarts, Goodnows, Bickfords and Baileys.

We invite you to share in the spirit of fellowship, friendship and community and to join us in our worship services and programs. Your talents are welcomed. Please let us know if you'd like to offer your musical talents to our services this summer.
