This post was supposed to roll the day before yesterday, but there was a little confusion about the venue. Still, this is important info if you have not picked it up via other social media.

The VUHS board will be meeting this Saturday morning from 9 to 10 am at the VUHS Library to discuss and vote a budget and a warning for a June 9, 2015 vote. While the Board on May 11 established a next meeting date of May 28th, members subsequently heard concerns that this late a meeting date does not leave enough time for voters to learn about the budget to decide their vote by June 9th. This tight timing could also potentially limit absentee ballot submissions. While Saturday meetings, especially during a long-weekend, are not the best option, there were very few other options available.

During the meeting, the Board will discuss options for a budget proposal that reduces impact of tax increases, which will include the beneficial effect of the 2016 state education tax rate passed in H361 by the Vermont Legislature. Please consider attending, and if this is not an option, please contact your Board member to discuss concerns or questions.
