Thursday, May 21 • 12:00 pm
Vermont History Museum, 109 State Street, Montpelier
See examples of samplers made by girls in Vermont between 1791 and 1840 and hear the stories they have to tell. A brief history of sampler-making will be given as well as a "census" of samplers known to have been made here. Ellen Thompson from the Green Mountain Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America delivered this talk at Vermont History Expo 2014 to a great reception, and she's been working on researching and adding new examples ever since.
Third Thursdays are free monthly brown bag lunch programs at the Vermont History Museum. Bring your lunch and learn more about Vermont History!
For more information on this and other Third Thursday programs, contact Amanda Gustin, Public Programs Coordinator, at amanda.gustin@state.vt.us or (802) 828-2180.
REMEMBER: Montpelier residents get free admission to the Vermont History Museum through the end of June!
